The Year Everything Ends at Once
Wood Snake Energy Meets Universal Year 9
If this year has felt heavier, stranger, or more final than others — you’re not imagining it.
As 2025 comes to a close, we are finishing a rare convergence of endings. Throughout this year, Chinese astrology has been moving us through the Year of the Wood Snake, while numerology marked 2025 as a Universal Year 9 — the final year of a nine-year cycle.
Both systems, entirely different in origin, have been saying the same thing all along:
Something is over.
And it’s over for a reason.
This was never a year of force or speed. It has been a year of shedding and completion — often happening simultaneously, and often without our awareness or permission.
The Snake Year: Shedding What’s False
The Snake is not loud. It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t explain itself.
The snake sheds when it has outgrown its skin — not because it wants to, but because staying would suffocate it. Throughout this Snake year, especially with the Wood element emphasizing growth and flexibility, anything that became false, restrictive, or outdated has begun to crack.
Relationships that no longer fit.
Roles you’ve been performing out of habit.
Versions of yourself that once kept you safe, but now keep you small.
Snake energy strips us down to our most honest self. And honesty, when it arrives before we feel ready, is a painful medicine.
Year 9: Completion, Karma, and Finality
Numerology’s Year 9 is the closing chapter. It’s where cycles end, karmic loops resolve, and energy simply runs out for what needs to go.
This has not been about trying harder.
It has been about not being able to anymore.
In this 9th year, you might have felt like:
You can’t tolerate certain dynamics, even if you once could
You are no longer motivated by old goals
You carried a strange sense of grief for things that are technically still there
Year 9 doesn’t ask you to destroy your past — it asks you to complete it.
When Snake Energy and Year 9 Collide
Shedding plus completion creates a very specific feeling:
everything seems to end at once.
Careers, identities, belief systems, friendships, patterns — not because you failed, but because you outgrew them.
This convergence has accelerated truth. It exposed projections, habits, and fear-based choices. It invited reflection instead of reaction. And it insisted that what leaves now cannot be carried forward.
Common Symptoms of This Transitional Year
Some people are more sensitive to these changes, others- less.
The heightened sensitivity is directly correlated to what it was in your life that needed to be shed. Or to be honest- to how long you’ve been carrying old patterns that no longer suited you. I like to call it “the year that the people pleaser is no more”.
And so, you might have experienced some, or all, of the following “symptoms”:
• Deep exhaustion
Not just physical tiredness, but a bone-level fatigue caused by trying to hold on to things that had already been shed. The body knew before the mind did.
• Every meeting felt like a test
Every conversation, meeting, or connection became a mirror. Especially towards the end of the year, meeting people left you with more thoughts than before.
You were constantly asking (consciously or not): Is this person aligned with my life? Why am I suddenly not happy around this person? Was this behaviour I now dislike- always there?
Snake energy exposed patterns — yours and everyone else’s.
• Desires and careers began to shift
What once felt exciting started to feel draining. This wasn’t laziness — it was evolution. There is a new version of you under that old skin, and it wants expression not only personally, but professionally.
(I will go deeper into this topic, the Snake & Year 9 coming to a close professionally on my publication Aligned Income)
• Old stories no longer made sense
The narratives you told about your past, your relationships, your identity began to feel outdated — like clothes that no longer fit. It could feel disorienting, as if the truth you lived by suddenly dissolved.
• Fear and habit stopped motivating you
Choices made from fear or comfort became obvious — and deeply unattractive. You began rejecting paths that once felt “safe” because you could finally see their cost.
• Heightened emotionality
This may have felt like regression — waves of sadness, confusion, or vulnerability. But this wasn’t going backward. It was release. Many people felt echoes of the last Snake year, 12 years ago — remembering how lost they felt then, just before everything changed.
• A pull toward the future
Even with fear present, there was a quiet knowing: I can’t go back. Something ahead began calling, and resisting it felt harder than stepping forward.
The One Thing This All Creates
When everything sheds and ends at once, one thing happens:
You stop wanting to explain.
You don’t fully understand who you’re becoming yet.
You’re afraid of what you’re letting go of.
And explanations require certainty & energy — and you seem to lack both.
So you go quiet.
You choose presence over justification.
You let the process work you.
This Is Not a Breakdown — It’s a Completion
The Snake sheds.
Year 9 closes the book.
Together, they have asked for honesty, courage, and trust in the unknown version of yourself emerging beneath the old skin.
You’re not crazy.
You’re not behind.
And you’re not failing.
You are finishing something — so something truer can begin.
As this year comes to an end, I’ll leave you with a question to sit with gently, and if you wish- also comment:
What have you decided to shed this year — even if you still can’t fully explain why yet?

Want to see what’s next?
I dedicated a whole new section on my website to analyzing the Year 2026-
being a 1 one, with a few weeks of the Wooden Snake followed by the Fire Horse Energy, and you can find it HERE.

Beautifully written and so spot on. I know a big chapter is closing for me and I have absolutely no idea what’s next.
You’re not crazy.
You’re not behind.
And you’re not failing.
…thank you ✨
